Tucked above the headland east of the village, Sorrento Park is almost hidden behind the houses of Sorrento Terrace and easily missed by visitors. A short steep path takes you up to a clearing with benches and the best ground-level view in Dalkey: Killiney Bay sweeping south, the Sugar Loaf mountain inland, the island and its Martello tower close offshore, and on the clearest of days the Welsh coast as a low smudge across the Irish Sea.
The park is small but rarely crowded, and it makes a fine end point for a wander out from the village. Combine it with a walk down to Coliemore Harbour for the full circuit.
