Donegal town itself is small — an afternoon is enough to see the main sights — but the county surrounding it contains some of the most dramatic landscape in Ireland. The real reason to base yourself here is access to the Slieve League cliffs, Glenveagh National Park, the Glencolmcille valley, and the Atlantic coast beaches of the Ards and Rosguill peninsulas.
