McDermott's in Roadford is the most local-feeling of Doolin's pubs, with a small interior that can feel genuinely cramped during a session and a regulars' culture that takes slightly longer to warm up than O'Connor's. The music here tends to start a little later and run longer, and the atmosphere at its best is more intimate than the bigger pub in Fishstreet.
The bar serves good food earlier in the evening — hearty pub meals that are popular with walkers who have come in from the Burren or off the cliff path. The stew and the chowder are reliable.
