Cruises occupies a narrow 17th-century building on Abbey Street, almost in the shadow of Ennis Friary. The interior is dim, low-ceilinged, and lined with bric-a-brac of an indeterminate age — coal-effect fires, framed sheet music, a sleepy dog when the regulars bring one in.
Music sessions run most evenings; the standard is high, since the pub has long been a favourite gathering point for serious Clare players. Food is served at lunchtime and into the early evening, plain Irish stuff done well.
