By air: Shannon Airport is 25 km south, around 25 minutes by car or a regular Bus Éireann service (route 51). Shannon has direct flights from the UK, mainland Europe, and the eastern United States, and is often the cheaper landing point than Dublin for a Clare-only trip.
By rail: Ennis is on the Limerick–Galway line, with hourly trains in both directions. Limerick is 35 minutes south, Galway 90 minutes north. The railway station is a five-minute walk east of the town centre.
By bus: Bus Éireann coaches connect Ennis with Limerick, Galway, Cork, and Dublin from the bus station next to the railway. The Dublin coach takes around four hours.
By car: Ennis sits on the M18 motorway between Limerick and Galway, both about 35 km away. Town-centre parking is metered on the street and free in two large pay-and-display car parks on the edge of the medieval core.
