O'Dowd's Castle is the ruined shell of a seventeenth-century mansion at the east edge of Enniscrone. It is rough and roofless, but it adds an older layer to a village that is otherwise read mostly through beach, surf, and summer holidays.
The nearby ruin of Valentine's Church makes a short detour if you are already walking this side of the village.
