Lady Bantry's Lookout is the classic short climb above Glengarriff. The path rises through the nature reserve to a viewpoint over the village, the harbour, Garinish Island, and the folds of Bantry Bay.
It is not a mountain expedition, but it is steeper than a casual stroll and can be slippery after rain. Go early or late for the best light on the water; on a grey day it still gives you the clearest sense of how the village is tucked between sea and mountains.
