Reenagross is a small wooded peninsula that juts into the Kenmare River south of the town centre, with a network of walking trails through native woodland and along the shore. The longest loop takes about an hour at a slow pace; shorter cuts run down to little gravel beaches with views back across to the Beara Peninsula.
The park is free, dog-friendly, and almost always quiet. Spring brings bluebells and wild garlic; autumn brings colour from the planted beech and oak. The path down from the suspension bridge near the new bridge is the easiest entry from town — fifteen minutes on foot from the square.
