Sacred Heart Church

Sacred Heart Church is Roscommon's main Catholic church, a neo-Gothic building completed in 1903, with its tower added in 1916. The exterior is handsome, but the interior is the stronger reason to step inside.

Look for the painted ceiling, mosaic floor, and the sunken grotto. It pairs well with Roscommon Castle and the friary as part of a compact walk through the town's historic core.
