Montesilvano Colle is the older hilltop settlement above the modern seaside resort. It is small, quiet, and a useful reminder that the coast's apartment blocks are only the newest layer of the town.
The main reason to go is the view. From the lanes and belvederes you can look down to the Adriatic and back toward the Abruzzo hills, a perspective that makes the flat beach town below more interesting.
