The church of Saints Peter and Paul is the main church of Pisticci's old centre, with a baroque facade that rises above the main piazza. The interior contains several notable paintings and wooden carvings, including a carved wooden choir typical of southern Italian baroque churches, and the scale of the building reflects the historic wealth of the town at its height.
The piazza in front of the church is the social hub of the old town, used for the evening passeggiata and as the natural gathering point during local festivals. In summer the square is often set up for outdoor concerts and cultural events.
