Palmi is close to the A2 motorway and has rail connections on the Tyrrhenian line, making it relatively easy by Calabrian standards. Trains connect north toward Lamezia Terme and Naples and south toward Villa San Giovanni and Reggio Calabria.
A car is useful if you want to move between the upper town, Monte Sant'Elia, Tonnara di Palmi, and nearby beaches without depending on local buses or taxis.
