Parco Cavaioni

Hill park south of Bologna with open lawns, woods, and Apennine views

Parco Cavaioni is where Bologna starts to loosen into countryside. Set in the hills south of the city, it has wooded paths, open meadows, picnic space, and views back toward the red roofs and out toward the Apennines.

It is a good choice when the porticoes and crowded food streets begin to feel airless. Bring water, allow time for the climb or bus connection, and treat it as a relaxed half-day rather than a checklist sight.
