The Lungomare Rasi-Spinelli runs the full length of the seafront, a wide pedestrian promenade lined with palms, ice-cream kiosks, hotels and the row of private bagni (beach concessions) that organise umbrellas, sunbeds and changing rooms by the day or the week. The beach itself is broad, very flat, and made of fine pale sand — easy on bare feet, easy with children, and gently shelving for a long way out.
Most of the beach is privately franchised in the Italian style (you pay the establishment for a parasol and two loungers), but there are free public stretches at either end of town. The whole promenade fills up at passeggiata hour, between six and eight in the evening.
