The Romagna piadina — a soft, slightly puffy unleavened flatbread folded around prosciutto, squacquerone cheese, rocket, or sausage and grilled vegetables — is the local fast food, and Cattolica has a good handful of dedicated stalls. Paolo's, off Via Bovio near the centre, has been doing it longer than most.
Order at the counter, pay at the cassa, eat standing up or take it to the beach. The classic is cotto, squacquerone e rucola — cooked ham, soft fresh cheese, and rocket. The bill almost never tops six euros.
