A neighbourhood trattoria a few minutes south of the cathedral, the Trattoria del Tribunale is a reliable, unfussy place for traditional Parmesan cooking — tortelli d'erbetta, anolini in brodo, bollito misto with the full cart of mostarda and salsa verde, and a tasting plate of local cured meats. The wine list leans local: Lambrusco, Malvasia, and a handful of Sangiovese from the surrounding hills.
It is busy at lunchtime with court and university people; in the evenings the room calms and you can take your time over a long Emilian meal.
