By air. Parma has its own airport (PMF) with mostly domestic flights and some connections to London Stansted. If you cannot find direct flights, Milan Malpensa (MXP) or Bologna Airport (BLQ) are good alternatives.
By train. Train service to Parma is frequent, convenient, and reasonably priced. Trains run every hour from Bologna Central Station -- the trip takes one hour. There are also hourly trains to Milan (about 80 minutes by InterCity) and frequent services from Modena and Piacenza.
By bus. TEP is the regional bus company. Buses leave from the Piazzale dalla Chiesa in front of the train station. The most frequent route runs from Busseto via Soragna (80 minutes).
By car. The exit for Parma is on the A1 highway (Bologna-Milan). You can also reach the city from the A15. Cars are not allowed in the city centre. The easiest place to park is the garage on Viale Toschi, or the pay-and-display spaces near the train station.
