Church of Sant'Agata

The parish church of Sant'Agata is the oldest standing structure in Broccostella, its origins going back to the early medieval period though the current fabric dates mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. It stands at the heart of the village on the main piazza, its facade modest and in keeping with the scale of a small hill community.

Inside, the church holds several painted canvases and carved wooden furnishings typical of a provincial Lazio parish: not works of great individual importance, but a coherent expression of the religious culture of the region across several centuries. The bell tower gives the village its profile when seen from the valley below.
