When to Go

Borgio Verezzi has a typical Ligurian coastal climate — mild winters, hot summers, and a long spring and autumn that many travellers find the most comfortable time to visit. The coast can be crowded in July and August, but Verezzi itself is small enough that even at peak season the hilltop hamlets feel quieter than the resort towns nearby.

The Festival Teatrale di Borgio Verezzi runs through July, making that month the most culturally interesting time to visit if you want to catch a performance in Piazza di Sant'Agostino. Book tickets in advance — popular shows sell out. Spring (April to June) is ideal for walking between the hamlets, when the hillside is green and the light is clear. The caves are open year round and maintain a constant 16°C inside, so they are also a welcome retreat on a hot summer day.
