The baroque parish church of Sant'Antonino is the finest building in Casanova Lerrone, housing a polyptych from 1552 attributed to the school of Ludovico Brea — the Niçoise painter who left altarpieces across western Liguria and the French Riviera in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The polyptych is well-preserved and shows the sophisticated religious painting being produced in this corner of the Mediterranean at the time.
Also worth finding is the shrine of Nostra Signora della Visitazione at the hamlet of Degna, which contains a group of wooden sculptures attributed to the workshop of Anton Maria Maragliano, the Genoese sculptor who produced some of the finest polychrome wood sculpture of the late Baroque period. Opening times at both sites are irregular; ask locally.
