Church of San Michele Arcangelo

The parish church of San Michele Arcangelo is the most prominent building in the Borgo, its yellow facade and bell tower visible from much of the seafront. The current church dates to the late 16th century, replacing an earlier medieval structure; the bell tower was added in the 18th century. The interior is single-nave Baroque, with a polychrome marble altar and several paintings from the Genoese school.

The church gives its name to the adjacent Oratorio di San Michele, which holds an unusual late-15th-century polyptych by Perin del Vaga's circle. In July the oratorio hosts a short series of classical concerts that have become one of the small fixtures of the Riviera summer calendar.
