Porta Testa is one of the historic gates of Finalborgo, the walled inland quarter of Finale Ligure. Passing through it is a small but satisfying threshold moment: outside are the roads and newer town, inside are stone lanes, arches, palazzi, and the compact medieval fabric that makes Finalborgo more than just a beach-town add-on.
The gate is best appreciated as part of a slow circuit of the old walls rather than as a standalone monument. It anchors the approach to a quarter full of small churches, courtyards, and climbing shops, and it gives the old town's defensive outline a clear physical point of entry.
