Finale Ligure's appeal is unusually varied for a Ligurian resort town. The beach and promenade are obvious, but above town the limestone landscape opens up a world of mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking through a karst terrain riddled with caves. Finalborgo — the medieval walled centre 2 km inland — is one of the most attractive villages on the Riviera and worth at least an afternoon. The Arene Candide cave and the Civic Museum tell the story of some of Europe's earliest inhabitants.
