The parish church on the main square of Magliolo dates back to at least the medieval period, when the village was a possession of the bishops of Albenga. The current building has been rebuilt several times; the bell tower is the oldest visible element, with stone courses suggesting Romanesque foundations.
The interior is plain by Ligurian standards — a single nave, a few seventeenth-century altarpieces, a wooden Crucifix processed each year on the feast of San Lorenzo (10 August). The square outside is the heart of village life and a good place to sit with a coffee.
