Punta Manara

Punta Manara is the southern tip of the promontory between Sestri Levante and Riva Trigoso, reached by a pleasant coastal walk of about 45 minutes from the Baia delle Favole. The path winds through Mediterranean scrub — cistus, rosemary, and wild thyme — with views of the open sea and back toward the Cinque Terre on clear days.

At the point itself, the headland drops steeply to the water, and the colour of the sea in both directions is an intense deep blue. It is a popular spot for locals who know it, but tourist crowds rarely make it this far. The walk back can be varied by taking the inland path through the hamlet of Riva Trigoso, which has its own small beach and a pleasant waterfront.
