MuSa, the Museo di Salo, is the town's main museum and a useful stop for understanding this stretch of Lake Garda beyond the waterfront promenade. Its collections move between local art, archaeology, music, science, and civic history.
The most difficult layer is the twentieth century, when Salo became associated with Mussolini's Italian Social Republic. The museum gives that history a local frame without reducing the town to it, making it a worthwhile indoor anchor on a Lake Garda itinerary.
