Founded in 1854 and still in operation on Piazza della Repubblica. The interior keeps its original wood panelling, mirrors, and marble counter. Locals stop in for an espresso standing at the bar (€1.20); tourists pay double to sit on the terrace.
Pastries are made on site — the frustingo (a dense Marche fruit-and-nut cake) is excellent. They also do a decent aperitivo with the standard local Negronis and spritzes from 6pm.
