Centro Storico

Locorotondo’s centro storico is the reason most travellers come: a circular old town of white limewashed houses, stone balconies, narrow lanes, and steep little roofs known locally as cummerse. It is immaculate without feeling sterile, especially early in the morning before day-trippers arrive.

There is no single route to follow. Drift through the lanes, duck through arches, and let the ring-shaped plan keep bringing you back toward the same small squares. The town rewards attention to details: wrought iron, pots of geraniums, carved portals, and sudden views over the valley.
