leuca_lighthouse

Tall lighthouse at Puglia's southern tip, watching the Ionian and Adriatic approaches.

The lighthouse beside the sanctuary is Leuca's cleanest landmark: a tall, pale tower above the cape, visible from the sea and from much of the waterfront below. Its position matters as much as its architecture, marking the southern end of Puglia and the busy waters around the Salento tip.

Access to the tower itself is limited, but the square around it is enough for the view. Come late in the day, when the white stone is less harsh and the sea below has more colour.
