Petralia Soprana

Petralia Soprana is the higher, more panoramic of the two Petralias, set on a ridge with stone lanes and views that open suddenly between houses. It is one of the best villages in the Madonie for simply wandering without a strict plan.

The town rewards patience. The churches are handsome, but the real pleasure is the sequence of small squares, stairways, and terraces looking across the interior mountains. Visit late in the afternoon if you can.
