Polizzi Generosa is one of the Madonie's classic high towns, set at roughly 900 metres with a long history and a strong sense of place. It is not polished for quick tourism, and that is why it is worth the detour.
The town has churches, old aristocratic traces, and broad views over the mountains, but its strongest impression is vertical: stone streets climbing, dropping, and turning back on themselves. It makes a good stop on a loop through the western side of the park.
