Monte Kronio, also called Monte San Calogero, rises just outside Sciacca and gives the town its thermal identity. The hill is known for hot vapours, caves, and broad views over the coast.
It is worth visiting even if you are not interested in spa treatments. The landscape changes quickly once you climb away from the harbour, and the combination of heat, rock, and sea views gives Sciacca a stranger character than its fishing-port surface suggests.
