Getting There

Bolzano has a small regional airport (BZO) with connections to Rome and a handful of European cities, but it is more practically reached by train. The rail connection is excellent: Bolzano sits on the main Brenner line connecting Innsbruck to Verona, with frequent services. Trains from Verona take around 1.5 hours; from Innsbruck, around 1 hour; from Munich around 3 hours via Innsbruck.

By road, the A22 Brenner motorway passes through the valley and links Bolzano to Innsbruck and the Austrian motorway network in the north and to Trento and Verona in the south. The drive from Munich is around 3.5 hours; from Verona around 1.5 hours. Bolzano is easily reached as a stop on a longer Alpine itinerary.
