Getting there

Massa is well connected by rail and road. The main coastal railway line between Genoa and Pisa passes through Massa Centro station, with frequent services in both directions; the journey to Pisa takes around 40 minutes and to La Spezia about 30 minutes. Marina di Massa has its own stop on the same line, useful for beach arrivals in summer.

By car, the A15 motorway (the Autostrada della Cisa) connects Massa to Parma in the north, making it the gateway between the Po Valley and the Tyrrhenian coast. The A12 coastal motorway links Massa to Genoa and to Livorno south of Pisa. Coming from Florence, the most scenic route follows the A11 to Lucca and then takes the SS1 (Via Aurelia) northward up the coast.

The nearest airport is Pisa Galileo Galilei (about 50 km south), with good connections throughout Europe. Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport is roughly 90 minutes by car.
