Getting There

Cervinia is at the head of the Valtournenche, off the A5 motorway between Aosta and Turin. The drive up from the motorway exit at Châtillon takes around 40 minutes — a winding road that climbs steadily through small villages before reaching the resort at 2,006 metres. Snow tyres or chains are required in winter; the road is regularly cleared but can close briefly in heavy snowfall.

The nearest airports are Turin (about two hours), Milan Malpensa (two and a half hours) and Geneva (around two and a half hours via the Mont Blanc Tunnel). Direct ski buses run from Turin and Milan in winter, and a private transfer service from Châtillon meets train arrivals year-round.
