Lielezers is the easy nature break south of the old town. It has a lakeside path, beach areas, and enough open water to give Limbaži a softer edge after the castle and museums.
Do not expect wilderness. It is best used as a quiet walk, a picnic stop, or a summer swim before continuing through Vidzeme.
