Jaunmoku Palace

Brick hunting palace west of Tukums, with interiors, parkland, and a forestry museum.

Jaunmoku Palace is a red-brick hunting lodge west of Tukums, built with enough flourish to feel more like a small palace than a country retreat. Its towers, tiled roofs, and parkland make it one of the area's more photogenic stops.

The museum inside includes rooms on forestry and manor life, which suits a building set between town and countryside. It is best reached by car or taxi unless you are making a longer cycling day of it.
