St Simon's Church is Valmiera's main medieval landmark. The church combines Romanesque and Gothic elements and holds several pieces of historic art, including burial plaques, an eighteenth-century pulpit, and an 1886 organ by Friedrich Ladegast.
The tower is the practical reason to step inside if you are short on time. Its viewing platform looks over Valmiera's roofs, the Gauja valley, and the small historic centre around the church.
