The Tytuvėnai church and Bernardine monastery ensemble is the reason most travellers come. The complex was largely complete by the early 17th century, with a later enclosed courtyard, chapels, arcades, and a calm sense of proportion that feels grand for a town this small.
The Church of Our Lady of the Angels is still active, and the monastery houses a pilgrim centre. If guided tours are running, take one; the architecture is easier to understand when the courtyard, chapels, and former monastic rooms are treated as one ensemble.
