Kratovo Old Town is the reason to come. The town is built around gullies inside an old volcanic crater, so bridges, towers, stairways, and stone houses appear in layers rather than in a flat grid.
Do not rush it as a checklist of bridges. The pleasure is in walking up and down, finding tower views, and seeing how much town fits into the folds of the landscape.
