Lesnovo Monastery sits south of Kratovo in another volcanic landscape, at the edge of the village of Lesnovo. The church is dedicated to St Archangel Michael and St Gabriel of Lesnovo, with medieval frescoes and a carved iconostasis that reward a slower look.
It is close enough to add to a Kratovo day without turning the trip into a long expedition. The road and village setting are part of the visit, so leave time for the approach.
