Central Veles is walkable but hilly. The most interesting routes involve climbing from the river and centre toward churches, viewpoints, and older neighbourhood streets.
Use taxis for Lake Mladost, the outer churches, or when summer heat makes the slopes unpleasant. The railway station is useful for arriving, but the city itself is better read at walking pace.
