Saint Dimitrija Monastery sits south of the centre near the old fortress-and-church cluster. It is a quieter stop than Saint Panteleimon, but it gives a good reason to push beyond the main streets and into the rougher hillside edge of Veles.
The site is best combined with nearby Saint Nikola, Saint Nedela, and the Kale area. This is not manicured sightseeing; it is the kind of walk where the city, churches, and dry Balkan hillside all run into one another.
