Saint Panteleimon is one of Veles's most important churches, set high on the hillside southwest of the centre. Built in the 1840s, it is associated with the master builder Andreja Damjanov and stands out for its scale, setting, and views back over town.
The climb is part of the visit. Come in daylight, dress respectfully, and allow time to look at the churchyard and the Vardar valley below rather than just stepping inside and leaving.
