The Church of Saint John the Baptist is one of the oldest churches in Veles, probably dating to the 13th century. It stands on a rock above the right bank of the Vardar near the south entrance to the city.
The small stone church has lost most of its original frescoes, but part of the old iconostasis survives. It is a quiet stop for visitors interested in Veles' older religious sites.
