The parish church on the waterfront — a handsome Neo-Baroque pile with a single dome and a campanile — is the focal point of village life and, after the luzzu boats, the most photographed object in Marsaxlokk. Built between 1890 and 1900 to replace a smaller chapel, the church is dedicated to Our Lady of Pompei, an unusual patron in Malta and a choice that reflects the village's strong Italian fishing connections.
The interior is whitewashed and light, with marble work, a fine titular painting, and silverwork carried in procession during the village festa — the second Sunday after Easter. The forecourt overlooks the bay; visitors are welcome outside services.
