Marsaxlokk is in the south-east corner of Malta, about 11 km from Valletta and 5 km from the airport. The simplest approach is bus: routes 81 and 85 run frequently from Valletta to the village; route 119 connects directly from St Julian's and Bugibba in summer. Buses take about 40 minutes from the capital and drop you at the waterfront. A taxi or ride-share from the airport is around 15 minutes.
If you are based in the south of the island, Marsaxlokk pairs naturally with a morning at the Hypogeum or Tarxien temples and a swim at St Peter's Pool on the Delimara peninsula, all within a few kilometres. Driving is straightforward, but parking on the harbour is limited and the Sunday market makes it impossible — come in by bus or park inland and walk.
