Mellieha is at the northern tip of Malta, about 25 km from Valletta and 22 km from the international airport at Luqa. By car the drive from the airport takes 35–45 minutes depending on traffic; the main coast road (Triq il-Mellieħa) climbs the ridge into the town.
The express bus X1 from the airport runs to Mellieha and on to Cirkewwa for the Gozo ferry, taking about an hour to Mellieha. From Valletta, bus 41 and 42 run roughly every twenty minutes and take an hour. The Gozo ferry at Cirkewwa is ten minutes north of Mellieha and runs every half hour or so; the same jetty has boats to Comino and the Blue Lagoon.
Taxis from the airport are metered and reliable; ride-hailing apps (eCabs, Bolt) work across Malta and are usually cheaper.
