Majjistral Park covers the wild cliff coastline between Anchor Bay and Golden Bay, a swathe of garrigue, abandoned terraced fields, and dramatic cliff edges that is the closest Malta has to a true national park. It is small by international standards — just under three square kilometres — but for an island as built-up as Malta it is precious.
A network of trails leads along the cliff tops past prehistoric cart-ruts, old shepherds' shelters, and a string of small Knights-era coastal watchtowers. The full walk from Anchor Bay to Golden Bay takes about three hours and is best done in spring (March–April) when the wildflowers are out. There is no entry fee. Bring water and a hat — there is no shade.
