The Beatles Museum is the lifework of a single Alkmaar collector, Azing Moltmaker, who spent decades acquiring records, posters, instruments, signed photographs, and concert paraphernalia from across the band's career. The collection occupies a 17th-century canal house on the Doelenstraat and is unusually comprehensive — among the largest private Beatles collections in continental Europe.
It is a niche attraction, frankly, but a wholehearted one — the rooms are crammed with memorabilia and the owner is often around to talk. Fans will love it; the merely curious can probably skip it. Opening hours are limited (typically afternoons, and not every day), so check in advance if it is on your list.
